Vintage Japanese Geisha Odori ‘Maiogi' Folding Dance Fan from Kyoto: Design J47

This lovely Maiogi Dance Fan came from a well known Odori Dance School in Gion and was probably used by one of the students and stored there for some time... Design: It is a lovely “sakura” cherry blossom design in gold on a reddish-ornage & white background and rich glossy-black lacqured bamboo struts. Condition: It is sturdy and sound with almost no signs of wear other than one slightly creased corner. The gold paint has discolored slightly with age, giving it an interesting “antiqued” look. See photos for details. It looks almost new and could be used for either dance practice or display… The first 2 photos show both sides of the fan - please examine them carefully before making your purchase to be sure you are happy with the condition of the item. Smaller than standard size, it measures about 17” or 44cm from tip to tip when open and is 9½” or about 24cm long when closed. Excellent quality!
