Elgin Grade 161

Elgin Watch Co. 16 size 17 jewel open face pendant-set Grade 161 pocket watch movement/dial/hands.  A beautifully finished movement with gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, gold train wheels, frosted and nickel damaskeen plate finish, and with distinctive fancy "lace doily" pattern damaskeen and mirror finish winding wheels.  Movement is fronted by its correct original high grade double-sunk enamel dial.  Movement serial number is 6591398.

Running though in need of attention to its timekeeping as movement lost about 15 minutes over 24 hours.  Nice looking movement overall cosmetically with some typical mild surface marks and spots.  Dial faces up very well though has a few mild flaws - some small hairlines above the upper-left rim of its seconds-register, and a small edge nick and light outer chapter hairline at the 48 minute  position.
