PROMOTIONAL PYREX RELEASES -PROMOTIONAL PYREX RELEASES were often offered in grocery stores and other retail stores close to holidays and events - Mother's Day, Summer Weddings, Thanksgiving and Christmas - to appeal to consumers, by sparking excitement, to get something "NEW". The FIRST gift set offered came in 1953 – The Heinz Baking Dish – the last came in 1983. After the HUGE success of the 1956 seasonal Decorator Casseroles, distribution of PYREX PROMO-Patterns became more widespread.Decorator Casseroles were first released in 1956 – over 135 different gift set patterns – until 1983. There were several different descriptive names given to these promotional items over the years – Decorator Casseroles; Promotional Items; Hospitality Collection … often these ubiquitous terms are used interchangeably – referring to different shapes and sizes of PYREX items – nicknames were given to help with regards to clarity. These promo-items often came a sets which included glassware and cradles, warmers, or mounts of some sort. The glassware items released in these sets often had NO pattern names assigned - BUT instead were simply associated with the promotional product released, as per its function. These items were produced for a limited amount of time and allowed to be on store shelves for a limited time, as well (pulled off of store shelves, for the next promotion). In all, approximately 135 different gift-set patterns were made available over that time.Princess Casserole – released ~1960 – This PYREX item is a Promotional release piece – an Open Milk-Glass Baker with a Crystal-Clear Glass Lid, having fired-on Graphics. This item originally came with a Gold-Tone Cradle, with candle-warmer, and white plastic handles at either end. Back-stamps –The concentric circle format - began with a simple circle format (1915-ish) but as more information was provided it became concentric circle format of information, with imperial measurements. In the late 1970's the backstamp-wording was changed to a linear in a rectangular-box format – including metric measurements. Because in the early 1970's there were IMPERIAL Units on the base, in a concentric-circle format but by the late 1970's the Units were in METRIC, in a rectangular-box format - some Graphics Pattern pieces came with either Units if their run was during that transition period.SHIPPING –Able to ship from Canada (please contact with request OR for pricing.
