This listing is for a combined set of primitive Americana kitchen items, all of which are believed to be either very, very vintage (like 60-80 years old) or actually antique.  Included:

Crock - This is very old salt glazed crock in the traditional light tan-gray color typically seen in antique American crocks. Although there are not maker's marks (and so research on age is not as successful), the crock looks very similar in style, glaze and level of patina and was purchased from the same estate as antique Red Wing crocks we also have for sale that can be dated to be antique.  This has a relative to size prominent collar a little over .75" high.  Width of the crock is 7.25" diameter outside to outside or 6.25" diameter inside to inside.  Height is about 7.5" tall and this is, as expected, nice and sturdy weighing in at 5 lbs 3 oz. This crock is in great antique condition with NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE AT ALL...great condition. The inside is also in great condition with the only exception being some discoloration / staining at the bottom (about an inch up from bottom) which looks like it might be caused by slightly worn glaze (probably from years of using utensils like those in this listing to mash, mix and stir food within). Lighter spot seen in pictures on the wall of the crock is actually just a manufacturing bump picking up the light...not damage. Again, the unsealed top rim has an old stoneware patina comparable to antique stoneware we have seen previously.

Wooden Primitive Utensils -

1) Potato or Vegetable Masher - 12.5" tall with a 2.5" diameter for the pounder end.  Great vintage condition with a lovely aged patina but not a lot of dark discoloration.  The perimeter of the masher is nicely smoothed to the touch.

2) Large Spoon - 13.5" tall with 2.25" widest width.  This is obviously hand carved / made.  The handle has a slight bend to it which makes the spoon look like it is ever so slightly bending.  There is a smoothed down chip at the top of the spoon and some minor staining from past usage.

3) Hole Spoon - 11.75" tall with just under 2" widest width. Great condition and patina.

4) Smaller Spoon - 11.75" tall with just under 2" widest width.  Some discoloration from liquid usage, especially in the back.

  • Condition: This crock is in great vintage condition with no structural / usage issues like cracks and actually no minor aesthetic issues (like chips) either. Great condition with no damage. The utensils definitely show their age with a nice wooden patina giving that nice "of history" look but other than natural used wood aging, they are in great pre-owned and used condition for their age. Please see the list of utensils in the Item Description and pictures for more clarification of condition.
