Winnebiko II poster - Computing Across America, Steven K. Roberts - autographed. These 18×24 posters carry an amazing image drawn from life by Robert Dvorak (author of Drawing Without Fear ) in 1987. The Winnebiko II computerized recumbent bicycle is accurately represented, and the associated text highlights the features of this machine… the version that covered both coasts of the US from 1986-1988. We used to sell these for $15 back in the ’90s and ran out, then believed for years that they were rare. The artist contacted me in early 2011, wondering if I wanted the stack he’s been saving… so I bought the whole lot and am now offering them at a bargain price.
The bike itself now resides in the Computer History Museum in Silicon Valley (BEHEMOTH , the final version, which rolled out of the bikelab in 1991).
Posters are shipped rolled in a mailing tube, 7 ounces, first class. Please specify how you would like it signed (or not). I’d be happy to include a custom message if this is a gift for a geekling…
