In this case it presents a nice yellow. This is a very particular bead: totally finished, decorations too, it misses the central hole, as if the beadmaker forgot to do it! These beads are commonly known as "Etched" beads, but, according to J.M. Kenoyer in "A bead timeline", by J.W. Lankton, The beads Museum, Washington DC, 2003, page 18 - 19, it is better to call them "Bleached". They are known from 4th century BC in Indus valley, moving to north-east to India and China.
