antique linen towel w red woven border + woven Westminster Abbey design 30x17". I buy vintage linens at local estate auctions to pass them along to you. This is an antique linen towel, probably a bath towel but possibly a kitchen towel. It is made of somewhat coarsely woven white linen and measures 30" long by 17" wide. At each end there is a 4" band woven with red and white in elaborate geometric designs, and both ends have more than 3" fringe. What makes this really special is that the middle is woven with a damask design of Westminster Abbey, showing the building with the name under it. It's hard to see white-on-white patterns, so please look closely at the photos. Please use the zoom function to see all the great details. This is in good antique condition. The fabric is soft and smooth,not brittle, but it does show some wear. There are no holes or stains but there are some slubs in the linen. So cool to find this depiction of Westminster Abbey! I am storing this in my smoke-free home, but I do have a cat who sheds copiously, so be aware if you have allergies. Please contact me for more information or photos.
