It has a very loosely woven mesh, like loose cheesecloth or something, applied to the back. This is one of a collection of vintage tapa cloth pieces I currently have listed on ebay - please take a look at the others, too ~ I don't know which islands these pieces of tapa cloth are from, so I leave identification to you collectors. All the tapa cloth I have listed this week have irregularities consistent with the making of said tapa cloth. Some areas have thinning and maybe even holes. Edges may be rough. Dimensions not exact. Colors that have bled. Etc. Etc. In addition, there may be additional holes or tears from wear/display, stains, etc. I will try to note variations and wear, but please view the photos and assume no piece is perfect.
