Seller: chullie (8,048) 100%, Location: Ballston Spa, New York, Ships to: Worldwide, Item: 302667101086 Wonderful old matrix / matrice for a good sized wax seal. Based on another of the same general style which I had in the past and was dated to the 1500s I am estimating post-medieval circa 1400s-1500s for this piece. However I really know little about this field of antiques. I spent some time reversing the photo images and made an impression of the seal and my best guess is the legend reads (Sigillum) "S: ROBERTI DE CROSSE _ ER " however this is just a guess and some of the letters are very difficult to read. Perhaps a personal seal for a Robert Cross / Robert Crosse...? I think this may be British / Scottish / Irish make. I welcome any additional information about this item. Sized about 33mm-34mm & 29.4g. ***One cent coin is included in the photos for size reference only and it not a part of this auction listing*** ________________________________________________________________ The items pictured are the items you will receive. ***One cent coin is included in the photos for size reference only and it not a part of this auction listing***I will combine shipping costs on multiple auction wins. Even so, still collectable. Condition: Please refer to photos., Circulated/Uncirculated: Circulated, Composition: Bronze
