Massive gothic/medieval style hanging light. This light is in great condition for its age. The huge white shade is a solid tubular milk glass 10" inches in diameter × 16" in length. The actual light as a whole is a whopping 31" inches high x 11 1/2" inches in total diameter. The thick suspension chain is 32" inches in length. Overall total length with chain and light is approximately 63" inches, this light is meant for cathedral high ceilings unless someone wanted to cut the chain down to the size they need. The wire is brand new as the old cloth wiring was frayed and needed replacement. The sockets and thier wires are original and in good working condition. This light holds 3 bulbs so it can provide a large amount of light. The original baked hammertone finish is in wonderfull condition and the chain and ceiling cap are finished in the same matching finish. The ceiling cap has a small spot of patina. The large clover style Finial and chain hook appear to be brass I think. There is a fantastic gold guilded motif of a vine with thorns swirled around a leaf and grapes along with some gold guilded accents mounted toward the top of the metal support rods. The bottom of the light is actually hinged and the metal ring swings down to allow for the large glass shade to be removed for cleaning. The glass shade has no cracks or breaks, there is some roughness on the edges of the Glass cylinder from being handled throughout the years but minor and to be expected. The design is great!
