Important American Colonial Silver Mug Tablespoons Samuel Edwards 1745-1760

American Colonial coin silver mug with a pair of Fiddle Tipt tablespoons by the esteemed and renown silversmith Samuel Edwards of Boston, c.1745-1760. This magnificent mug features a scroll form handle as well as a silver soldered base. There are minor engraved line accents. Features Edwards makers mark on the bottom of the mug. Monogrammed \"S W - E\" on the handle in engraved block script. The tablespoons are in a Fiddle Tipt pattern with a pelican or bird crest on the bottom of the handle. They both feature Edwards makers mark on the bottom of the shank. This stunning mug measures 5 1/2\" across the handle, 3 15/16\" wide, 5 7/8\" tall, and weighs 13.5 ozt. The tablespoons measure 8\" long and weigh a combined 4.2 ozt. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no repairs, removals, or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering. Monogrammed as described above. [wb4120]
