For sale is an Antique East Palestine Pottery Company Semi-Porcelain Bedpan. It is about 16 1/2 inches long by about 12 inches wide and about 4 inches tall.  It weighs 5 pounds and 5 ounces. The bottom is marked "SEMI-PORCELAIN The E.P.P. CO".  My research on the Internet shows this is the East Palestine Pottery Company of East Palestine, OH.  The E.P.P. CO was started in 1880.  In 1904 the company was purchased by William Shaw George who renamed it to the W.S. George Pottery Company. Also on the bottom is a blue ink mark which I can not make out.  Send me a message if you would like a close up of that emailed to you. It has several imperfections from the manufacturing process at the time. It has crazing which is visible upon close up inspection.  From my research on the Internet this is pretty normal. There is a hairline crack can not be felt with your fingers on the rim of the bedpan.  There is a dark mark across this crack  where the manufacturer may have reinforced it before it was fired to prevent it from growing bigger.   There are two cracks on its side near the bottom.  You can feel a slight edge on the larger of the two cracks with your fingers. On the inside, opposite of the drain hole, is a crack which could be a kiln split. None of the cracks noted go all of the way through the bedpan. It has a couple spots where it is discolored.  I'm not sure if it was made that way or not. On the neck or urinal, there are several tiny pinholes on the surface which can be felt with your fingers.  There is also a rough spot on the neck which might be a chip or a defect.   There are stilt marks on the bottom and the inside of the bedpan which are a normal part of the firing process. There may be other small imperfections that I failed to mention such as dimples, discoloration, and other small hairline cracks.   Please view the photos as they are a big part of the description.
